Phew! Finally I'm able to upload my Thorns demo CD-R. Look at the screen capture above, the uploading speed is ridiculous. It took me 27 minutes just to upload 20 MB!
Anyway here's the track list:

01 A Dark Beginning [1:32]
02 Esplendor [2:37]
03 Black Death in NeverLand [4:25]

The first track is a dark/industrial ambient track. It opens with a dialog sample taken from the movie "Premonition" as a deep bass drone is slowly building up opening it. I used an old Cakewalk sequencer software to create the deep bass drone. Since the built-in original bass from Cakewalk was not thick enough to create the appropriate mood for this track, I created 2 bass tracks in the sequencer. All the elements (samples, bassline, others) are composed with it. Clanging metals comes in and out of the track in the background. Near the end comes the dialog sample from "Saw II" as the track fades out.

The second track has various samples thrown in taken from many sources such as "Aliens vs Predators" and an Esplendor Geométrico track. I manipulated the samples first using various distortions and metallic-sounding echoes using an old Sound Forge software before composing and building 'em up into a track. The track begins with industrial-strength beats and twisted basslines with metallic-sounding low-key piano in the background before it switches into heavily-distorted predator's scream sample followed by manipulated EG track with other stuff for good measure.

The final track is the longest to compose. It begins with a sample from an Ah Cama-Sotz track accompanied by a movie dialogue by Jigsaw character in "Saw IV". Then, a distorted sampled Diary of Dreams EBM bassline follows. I always like this bassline from the DoD's song "NeverLand" so I figured that it was cool to put it into a track. After a bridge of a heavily-distorted predator's scream, it mutates into Wumpscut's Black Death along with other sounds thrown in. This is the most fun track to create switching between Cakewalk (composition) and Sound Forge (distortion, echoes, volume adjustment, sample manipulation). I took a long time to find an appropriate distortion for DoD's EBM bassline. I think more artists should use this distorted EBM bassline idea more 'cos it simply sounds unique and cool.

Thank u and enjoy!
